Sycamore trees

Post by fae »

Good morning

At the invitation Landcare my husband and son are spending this weekend near Janolan Caves controlling Sycamore trees.

Has anyone ever collected one and used for bonsai ?

Thanks

Hi Fiona,
Depending on the species of Sycamore, leaf size is the biggest issue when trying to bonsai them. Apparently the leaves don't reduce well, even with defoliation.
I guessing you would have to create a large sized bonsai to make it look convincing.
Mal.
