Elm collected
Hi All
Bored yesterday so I went for a drive and stumbled across a spot in a side road that had been bulldozed out recently by local water commission. All English Elms . Next door was the water commission themselves so I knocked on the door and explained myself and I got permission to take as many as I like due to they were set to be all pushed up into a pile and burnt making way for some new water line .
first stump I was up to my butt in mud and water every time I dugout a scoop of mud it filled with water not to mention I tripped and sat in mud literly .......not an easy one to get out but had to have it ! I'd say it is a bit bigger around than a large paint can . I left the top a bit long in time I'd like to carve it so it looks like it had/has been struck by lightning .As you can see its has a decent root system for a collected tree .

Hi Carlos
Im pretty much finished for this year unless I get out this week or next weekend .
Some of my early collected ones are starting to bud swell and new shoots are forming
Which tells me time up soon for digging this year
Always next year !
