I liked the lilly pilly a lot but was scared to buy it because of the rot...Should I? Also it was a topiary with funny balls on top, which means I will need to do trunk chop or airlayer. The wood on the trunk looks very old with mature bark. Will it be able to back bud on such old trunk?

I would buy it and layer between each ball to give yourself lots of trees to play with, another bonus is all that branching you can play with in each ball. During warmer weather they will root quickly & also reshoot well on old wood.
