Re: How tall can you go?
As i cannot find my old ROR Maple threads. I thought I hmight post them here to show
Back in 2005 I potted up 2 whips into tubes so that the roots will elongate, then placed them on a rock to develop. They were buried for 2 years, then exposed. Been developing the tree since

Are they both from 2005? They look great. What sort of styling are you going to make the canopies?

Re: How tall can you go?
Hi Jason,
Its only been on the rock a little over year.
I attached it to the rock with insulation tape with the sticky side facing out then wrapped it in cling film.
I then buried for a year.

Re: How tall can you go?
Sorry for the completely noob questions.
How do you get the roots that long? Just a REALLY deep pot?

In the photo I posted with the 2 tubes.Concept wrote:Sorry for the completely noob questions.

Put the tubes 1/2 way into the pot and fill up with mix. Plant the tree into the top of it and the roots will extend right down to the bottom of the pot.
Result is really long and supple roots to place where you want.
