Bonsai and Water Costs

Over here we dont have the benefit of a river to irrigate crops or provide water for farmers. As you all know we have stuff all rainfall in WA, which we have always relied on for all our water but now we have a desal plant to supplement our water (with a second one on the way) which we cant do without or we would be bloody thirsty! And do you have any idea how much water is used in mining and construction? Our dams continue to break records for "being at the lowest levels ever" even with desal plants helping out.
I heard the other day, and this affects everyone on the planet, that... "There is no new water"... all the water that we have,that we consume, is old water.It has been through the groundwater system,it was was rainfall,it was the ocean,it has come from evaporation,it has passed through sharks,dinosaurs,animals,humans,fossils,rock.........but there is no new water. The water that we have on this planet is it. It does not replenish.

A fair while ago, I made a point of waiting for the news on drinking recycle waste water, they showed part of the treatment plant -- I can never get those images out of my mind I guess self-reservation will kick in once my body needs water...

I appreciate what you wrote completely. I understand that we have been over-billed around $300.00 or so. But I also feel that it is an insurance for Victoria. I understand that Western Australia ( I could be wrong? ) already has a plant in operation a while ago?

-- I am not sure why governments get stuff wrong fairly frequently. Mr. Neil Mitchell on 3AW dissected desal plant contract: we certainly have been ripped off by somebody! ( Ah! Not to mention Miky! )

I do capture rain water. As does my father: he put two 5000 liter tanks in his yards.

I grew up in Vietnam drinking home-made-filtered well water: I sort of see what you said. In poorer countries, people suffer a lot of diseases because of bad drinking water.
