Don't blame me for your need to dig up everything that doesn't move, Matt!

OK, so what is it, how did you get it, and will it bud back on the old wood, or do you have a 3metre tall windswept yamadori?

Thanks for posting,

Gavin

Gavin,
I didn't dig it but would have if I had seen it...

No idea what it is(not that that has ever stopped me), came as trade(this guy is my kinda crazy) & yes it back buds on old wood (but I am not wanting to much of that) It has all the characteristics I want for a very aussie tree, it's 3/4 dead twiggery!

On discussion with my mentor today we are both fairly certain it's a Thryptomene, species to be determined once I get round to actually researching.

Very interesting indeed. Those dense fine dead branches are very typical of what you find in the bush, and the trunk movement is already graceful. When do you intend repotting? I'd probably bring the left hand trunk in a bit, and then leave it - what are your plans?

Repotted this afternoon & liked what I found. It has gone into a shallower training pot till a final one can be made :tu:

Interesting material, Matt.
Will be watching to see how this progresses. Looking at it I see a nice windswept tree, would need to tilt to the right 30-40 degrees and as Gavin stated, bring the left hand trunk across.
Looking forward to seeing where you go with this one. It does seem like a typical native plant battling the harsh elements of the Aussie bush.

Jeremy

Wow Matt, if i have ever seen a planting screaming out for a slab this would be it. This planted up one end and small moss in the end space. Heaps and heaps of potential here. A bit jealous.

Thanks Jezz, once its strong in the new pot I will start trying to bring some order to it.

Bodhi, a slab would be nice but too predictable, a shallow unglazed rectangle with straight walls is on the cards for it.

Jason, I wonder...hope I can do justice to it. Was great to spend time with a like minded loon, look forward to next time.
