I too lost my two best trees in the last few months and it makes it hard to look to the future thats for sure. At least you still have this great little tree, keep up the good work and don't give up (but if you do, I'm first in line to buy this tree :D ) :tu:

Nice tree good progress.
Shame about the wire cuts but hopefully they will mellow out over time.
No big deal.

Guys just wondering re. the loss of plants..

Historically speaking most of my losses over the years have been purely based on a lack of water and exposure to extreme heat and winds.
I too got extremely perplexed as I watched sentimentally valued tree's wither and die in the blink of an eye.

It has only been recently that I have invested in an automatic watering timer which is attached to a basic sprinkler.
This ensures that no matter what I do (if I forget to water or simply don't water enough) that the tree's never dry right out to bone or dead dry!
To be honest this light bulb moment and in the scheme of things meager investment has re-kindled my Bonsai passion.

For example I went away to Europe last year for a month during the middle of summer and didn't even lose not one tree!
I now also compliment my summer setup with a bit of shade cloth to filter the harsh rays..

Anyway I digress.
One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful
