Thanks Meagi but if you know where to look there is better than this out there !!! The goal is to increase your ramification, not let your internodes get too far apart, In turn this increases the number of buds the energy has to divide to and this will lead to smaller foliage. As well of course size pot,food and watering all play a part, later when in show. Constant defoliation ( 3 times a year ) is what helps you achieve this bigger picture... Here are some different size leaves, obviously the smaller is what we strive for !!!

Hi Antonio, just something I noticed in a couple of your trees but I would really like to see you grow your new leaders on 25-50% more to add bit of extra diameter and help smooth the transition from the trunk below. I'm going through a lot of my larger trees at the moment and seeing the same thing in a some of my earlier work, which is frustrating.

Speaking of old skeletons in my bonsai closet, earlier today I "re-discovered" some "lovely" Tridents that I now just want to kick in the balls and set fire to, but that will only piss the CFA off, so I'll probably plant them in the ground and plunder them for cuttings .

hi Moj i see what ya talkn about and they are certainly getting ironed out as we go. There is always some sacrafice left between defoliations which i have not shown. When the new leaders bark up that will also help add on some fat. No prob mate i am aware of it and on to it !!! TIME is on my side... ps dont start any bush fires !!!

I am also surprised at the size of them. the first photos of them against the plain wall give no indication of the size and I thought they were all shohin size. Then to see them later against the brick, I realised they are all quite a bit larger

Hey Ken glad you had a laugh !!! Thanks for the kind words. Yes they are a mix of chuhin and shohin. Hard to tell too because the shohin are in large pots for faster developement.

Hey CK thanks you too for the kind words !!! Desert Ash are a european tree of the fraxinus family. Very common down here mate !!! WEEDS !!! Mountain Ash however is a native Euc i believe and yes the Dandenongs here are full of them as well as many other forest areas in VIC...
