Very old black pine.

This week I was lucky enough to see the "rebirth" of a very old black pine. We think it began in the 1950's.
Its new owner has had it for about a year now, most of that time spent contemplating what way to style the tree after a few branches had been lost.
A plan was devised, and this is the result.

It will take a few years to bring it to its best but I expect it will be quite a special tree in years to come.
I would love to see earlier pictures of this tree and learn more of its history.

I too would love to see earlier pics and learn the history of this tree. It tells a good story just looking at that pic. Regardless of history, there is a bright future there.

Beautiful tree !!! Great styling, YEY finally a bunjin with lots of great movement !!! Oh yes this is a stand out tree, even the messy roots look great !!! 63 yrs is just a young pine gerard. Congrats to the new owner.

Much of the current foliage is blacked out and has not yet been cut off.
I guess the full height to be about 1200mm, and the final height (which is visible now) would be about 900mm

Great tree, going to spectacular in the future, especially being of larger size. Gotta love the movement in the trunk. WOW
Hopefully a photo of the tree in its pre-work form will surface, or history photos. Awesome
