One things for sure, these smaller branches in the middle of the trunk need to go. They block the view and I don't see a use for them.
I also had no idea natalensis leaves could reduce so much...

Do you think this tree is in any kind of health to be defoliated??? If so and you proceed with it, get some 4 sided snaps and post it over here at the virt thread: viewtopic.php?f=114&t=12854&p=135016&hilit=virt#p135016 Then everyone can have a crack at it, and maybe from each perspective you can get a few ideas on top of your own

It's been actively growing outdoors, but since bringing it indoors I'll have to wait in order to defoliate.
