MY FIRST MINI..(sorry, a privet)

Post by bodhidharma »

Woohoo, i am in the mini club, but its a Privet :palm: I know, but i have worked on this for yonks and i am really happy with its progress. This is its first real pot and, being a huge tree kind of person, i have to say this could be addictive. Please cheer and applaud for my first Mini  . It still has a few scars from the sacrifice branches but they will heal. See you soon Pup and i hope it is small enough. :tu2:

The littluns are lots of fun & so much quicker than a big tree...

PS: I am more amazed it has taken you 20yrs to get into mini's, its where I started  I still prefer the bigguns tho ;)

If it were not for my trees, maybe I could see the forest.

Privet is good. If my experience of killing minis has taught me anything it is: tough weeds are good!

Lovely job!! I think you'll have lots of fun with that mini.
I like the pot too, but independantly from the little tree. It's too deep. However, if it's the tree's first bonsai pot, it'll grow quite happily in it for at least 2 years.

Never apologise for a privet.
They are just great for bonsai: they are a good training tree for the novice and they test the commitment and sustainable patience of the more experienced, especially in spring.
Love Ligustrum!!!
