Re: English Elm
Thanks Leigh, I have another Elm almost identical except for the trunk which is slightly longer. If you have a copy of Bonsai Australis volume one there are pics of the tree from the start then owned and styled by Max Lehey.
Cheers john

Re: English Elm
One of my favourites from the collection. I will look up that article thanks John.
It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

Re: English Elm
Here is a conundrum. I have Bonsai australis volume one, issue one, march/april 1993 and the Ulmus parvifolia article by John white is actually a repeat of the Taking the byte out of bonsai an article on using computers and bonsai. If you have a copy of Bonsai Australis volume one there are pics of the tree from the start then owned and styled by Max Lehey.
I have asked expecting this is the same with every issue produced but have yet to get an answer. I can not find any pics of this elm in the magazine and am now again wondering what is up with the copy I have.
Can someone check their copy for me and see if it is the same and if so what page this elm is on?

Re: English Elm
Thanks for posting these beautiful Elms John!
I have read with great interest, Max Lehey's 'trunk chop and split for new branches' technique on Elms. Can you tell me how long it took for the split sections to look realistic and branch like?
Regards,
Steven
