Ulmus procera..Now i am just having fun.
I have been working on this little bloke for nearly as long as the big guy but have been letting it grow and cutting it back to get large branch stubs as per Colin lewis's book.."Bonsai, its art and design". The whole idea of having these two trees is, when they are ready, to display them together as a big and small of the same species and what can be done portrait. The funny thing is that the small Elm is lagging behind the large one a very long way. So this year year i will put the tiny one into a grow box and see if i can hurry the procedure along. anyway, just a crazy old guys idea of having fun
Both trees are completely hollow by the way and the similarity's are remarkable.

Ohhh Inspiration brewing. Thought occurred [bad news] to style this cutting very much in the same way bodhi has, to mimic the parent plant:Craig wrote:Cracker mate, the other day i was thinking about "mini me" bonsai trees, you have one, good work

The cutting:

I hope you see Imitation as a form of flattery guys
