This was a 4 hour transformation from a garden plant to a bonsai trainer . I removed it from the hole it was grown in in my garden .I basically used the clay terrace to my advantage and dug a pot size hole for the $2 market tree i purchased 4-5 years ago . From its original hole and a 12mm trunk when planted it grew to 50mm at the base and didn't breach the hole . It was basically slip potted into this pot

a couple of months ago . Today i decided it didn't need a rest as it continued to grow on after the initial trim 3 months back . A quick removal of the lower foliage and then a few guide wires were placed onto the trunk for the desired movement From there the final angle was utilized by placing blocks , chocks and pavers on and around the pot to hold it without any chances of an accident . With the pot secured i set about wiring the branches and applied a heavy wire to the top 250mm of the apex . From there it was a matter of manipulating the branches and apex into position , then a quick trim of the foliage and its all over for another trainer The movement will be increased over time by adding a bigger block or re-tentioning the wires .The finished tree is 1100mm high with a 50mm base .
