Shoin juniper Procumbins
This is a Procumbins i picked up about 4 years ago at a Northwest sale ,have been refineing the tree over the past year procumins are not my favourite bonsai glad i only have two.

The jin around the apex looks like a crown of thorns. Great work.

Hi John Henry , i like the intricate detailed movement in the jins . I don't think we see enough of this type of work here in Aus .I look forward to taking to the few Sabina's and Shimpaku Juni's i have been training for a few years myself , need a few posts like this to get a bloke motivated .Thanks for posting .

could be the photo -but this looks messy and needs to be simplified--I'm finding it difficult to see the 'tree' in this

Messy? More like complexity! Great tree. Low foliage pad could extend a bit or maybe it's the angle of the shot? Either way love it and the dead wood

if this were my tree John, i'd be keeping the lower trunk jins fairly short or get rid of them , this trunk needs to be seen . At present the beautiful shari on the trunk is being obscured by jin, i most likely would remove most if not all the top jin and/or rework them , they to me are very distracting . Nice stock
