Steve, I think its petersonii... I remember buying atleast one of them amongst the lot that this one came from. Apart from losing the top branch it has handled the torture with grace.

Ken & Craig, I like the roots from the old front but the branch placement of the other side. A bit more compression in the trunk & I may change my mind again....

Hey Matt, you'll know if it's petersonii, they have a distinctive lemon citrus fragrance when the leaves are picked and crushed. The leaves look a bit shorter than those on my petersonii (I think? hard to tell) ... someone else might know more.

Nice work so far, you've done well to get those sort of bends happening on a Lepto, though I can see a few more bends in the pine line! Good luck.
Cheers, Ryan

Ryan, the leaves have reduced considerably from when I first started out with it, the distinct citrus smell is not apparant with this one but based on leaf shape & various other attributes it is about as close to an id as I will likely ever get.

The branch at the end of the trunk finally gave up the ghost sometime last month :(

Apologies for the poor pic quality. Not sure where to take this little one next.. maybe it is time for something drastic

I like the trunk line going off to the left in the middle photo, maybe you could lose the right branch? Maybe give it a growing season first.

Nice base.

Hey Mat

Like the pot .. bet you didn't carve that one out. Gives you depth while not outdoing the tree. Has perfect proportions.

However on another note I must warn you that if I should snag my foot on one of these little terrors while bush walking through a 'forest' of tea trees I may have to to take the creator to task.

Cheers

Gavin, It has been trimmed once & pinched twice since the repot & already has roots coming out the drainage holes :o No need to wait a season but I might wait till your up here & see what you think of it in person.

Cuwire, the cracks between the slabs give away its construction, it was this pot that prompted me to start carving them :tu2: No plans for a forest but now you mention it I wouldnt mind a tiny lepto group, look out spring I might actually get back to digging some trees :D
