Another project under way
This is a Pomegranate I managed to acquire from a friend. It is not the Nana variety, so the beginning of the flowers will have to be taken off other wise it will weaken the tree too much. There are other buds on the tree which I will let one develop a little more but take the rest of. If they flower together I will take another picture.
Enjoy them as I do cheers Pup

Hey Pup,
Are you sure its not Nana? Punica granatum has a slightly pointed leaf end rather than the rounded end on yours, the flowers are also larger than those in your pic. (I compared size with a AA battery) Either way its a great little score & no doubt you will work wonders with it.

I could be wrong as I only go by what he told me. I said I liked it and could do something with it, he said yours for! so I took it.MattA wrote:Hey Pup,

I still like it, and if it is as you say it means I can leave one to mature so then we can enjoy it more.
Thanks Matt

Pup, just took a pic of my nana for you to compare, AA battery, open bloom & full size fruit. I am really keen to see what you do with this little gem.

I love Pomegranates. I have one and my flowers are larger Pup. I to, think it is a "Nana". Lovely little tree.

Re: Another project under way
Interesting indeed!. I've owned "both" varieties in the past.
I've found that with the "nana" (I had for about 8yrs) the flower size was exactly the same as the regular cultivar I had. When it came to leaf size, the regular Pom ahd leafs about 3 times the size of the "nana". I don't have any pics of the regular one, but here are a couple of the "nana". Sorry 'bout the pic quality
Cheers!
