Pup and we decided it will be somewhere between tilt no2 and no3 but it was easier to trim in the more upright position.

When we repot it that will be the final positioning.

Hi all,

Well we repotted the Callistemon last December and it went balistic with growth and has only now finally slowed down.. Mix was 50% Akadama, 25% crushed Brick and 25% Marble Chip.

Here is a current photo. Lets hope it has plenty of flowers this year. Leigh will be doing an article and posting it on our website in Monthly news.

Thank you for this Grant, it now makes me wonder why I sent to you . You have improved it immensely, and proved your first thoughts are what you should go by.

I was always hesitant but with love and the expertise of the wonderful staff we have in Canberra, the trees can only improve.

The Callistemon was slower this year in both flowering in late spring and then coming back into growth after the annual hard prune in summer due to the cooler summer we have had; but the extra fertilizer this year has caused it to bud back onto older wood much better than ever before.

Slowly getting the hang of the weather here but this has been an unusual year so far. Mid January and barely 30 degrees.

Yes, the weather has done funny things to many species. Several have put out a few flowers, even though they have previously only flowered in spring. Cool, but not much rain around here lately.

Yes all over this wide brown land the weather is fickle, we are again experiencing high 30s and lack of night time chill it was 30 when I took the boss for his walk at 8 oclock this morning, we were supposed to get a thunderstorm!! it missed us. Another is forcast for today!!.

My Callistemons here are going along fine, had a couple of flowers last week!! on the big one. The others are still doing what they are supposed to. I must admit that some cooler weather would be nice, as it seems to have affected me a bit this season normally I can handle it, but this time, I am more inclined to stay out of the midday sun, not as mad as I used to be.

Hi Pup,

We have only had 1 day over 30 degrees so far this season and mostly its been low to mid 20s.

Anyhow the callistemon has finally put out its new growth after the hard prune.
