Lock Ness Monsterey

Post by alpineart »

This was a decision made in the the best interest of the collected tree . This was to be sprayed with weed killer so i have collected it instead . With the spray gangs going hammer and tongs on the noxious weeds around the plantations i chose to take the risk of its survival over certain death .

I trimmed this prior to shattering my leg with the full intention of collecting it 3 months ago .
100_9455.jpg
This was growing in a cascade down an old road batter
100_9457.jpg
, the roots well there isn't a great deal to call sustainable stock but i had to give it my best shot . Hope it hangs in there .Justifiable insanity on this one , yes i'm still on crutches but how could i not collect this bugger .

Cheers Alpineart

Hi philf555 , i don't have a good track record with Monty's so yes its in the hands of God this one . Neesy will if it survives be a great tree one day . It hasn't wilted yet so thats a good sign , with 30mm of rain 48 hours prior to collecting that helps also , although i would have preferred to wait another day it wasn't to be .

Hi VS , it would have been nice to collect it before the accident , it would have stood a much better chance . The movement is exceptional , bit like Nessy .The apex turns back on itself with a twin leader/apex . It will make for a great cascade as collected with minimal apex work . After care as with all collected material will be the savior , only time will tell .

Hi Dario , its certainly unique material . I collect trunks , not tree's . Plenty of tree's could be collected but i like thing a little different . This trunk is around 50mm thick and the canopy around 750mm in diameter so there is plenty to work with , if it plays ball and survives .
