Variegated elm, chop or wire?
Here is a shot of my young variegated elm, it was taken as a root cuttinga while ago before it was given to me. It now has 3 branches coming out in a fairly triangular shape from the top. The only possible future i see for this is a broom style. I was thinking of either cutting 2 of the branches back and letting them regrow and then train them in the direction i want or just leave them, wire them down slightlyy and cut them back next season. And ideas on that or any other options anyone can see please be heard
. I know its not amazing stock but it was free and i think it could make something with a little work.

Take 2 of them off, Repot ( next year) at and angle so remaing branch become a new leader and let them grow for a year or 2 to thicken up. then cut the top off and select a new leader again to build the taper in the tree
You can always make something of a young tree, just takes time and the decision on the direction to take must happen now so you can develop it over time
