help! white fly driving me mad
Hi,
I can see white fly in certain parts of the garden and was wondering what I can use to control them. I have eco oil and was wondering if I use this on my bonsai (maples and pines) will it burn the leaves?
Any pointer on controlling white fly welcome.

Re: help! white fly driving me mad
I've used it on my JBPs for aphids up here in Townsville without problems. The manufacturer states the product is safer than other oil products in terms of burning plants in the heat. To be safe I often spray it in the cool of the evening that way there's a recovery time before the heat kicks in the next day.

natrasoap works well and isent oil based. its alos less harsh than alot of others. confidor is symstemic and hangs in the tree for awhile same as roger. i havent had to use anything since moving to whee i am now
natrasoap will also control certain mites.

Hi,
Thanks everyone for the tips.
Mathew: Any ideas as to where I can get natrasoap and is it called something else (if it has a product name)
Thanks.

the big B still sells it last time i looked. in a yellow square kinda bottle and goes under that name, spelling might be slightly differant and i believe yates makes it. you dilute in water and put in a spray bottle and use. I havent seen any trees that suffer ill effects from it and even elms which can defoliate with certain sprays seem fine.

Hi Makro,
Clensil is a good option, QV put me onto it. It breaks down the waxy protective coating on the insects.
Sometimes I revert to stronger poisons but it is nice to have a safer option.
Not so easy to get locally, I tried bunnings but in the end I went to Poyntons Maribyrnong.
Most good nurseries will have it.

Q: Why are we all here?
A: Because we are not all there.
