:gday: All,
Yesterday I took another Ausbonsai member out on his first dig. Pandu, had an early start at 6:30am but at least the weather was clear  .
We collected about 12 or so Melaleuca Preisiana's and Rhaphiophylla's,,I said i wasn't keeping any trees but ended up with 4 larger trees ,here are 2 of them.
The small compact one has a 170mm trunk and 650mm height. The taller one has a 180mm trunk, has only a small live vien up the tall(left) side, a small live vien up the right side to the lower(right) branch and is 1100mm high,

nice mate, mels would have to be one of my fave aussie bonsai suitable plants. The bark on them is amazing, so many different foliage forms and flower colors, cant wait to work with some myself. A few nice tree's locally but most are 2m+ and at that size have very very think trunks and are way too bulky to move.

Good work Guys!...I thought the side of the road was looking a bit sparse as I was driving down the highway the other day ! ;) Pandu...watch out for the hot weather thats coming up  ,that new growth can fry up pretty quickly if the root system hasn't developed properly yet. ....Dog.
