Hi Redsonic , thanks for the interest , this tree grows in its own time .
I really like this little tree while it doesn't grow fast it rewards me with its own uniqueness .

Re: [Sno] Melicytus dentata 'Gruggly bush'
Not much change . I'm going to start looking for a slab to put this on in spring . Which will be nice because it will free up this 42 mice pot for another tree I have .

Hi Thymetraveller , it's been an interesting project .
Obviously this tree has not grown . One thing I noticed it only grew on the side that was not facing the sun over summer .

Yep, very little change there Sno. You are at a disadvantage where you live, having an actual Winter and all that. Most of my plants here in Brisbane continued to power on through Winter. Even the deciduous ones mostly kept their leaves.
Anyway, I continue to follow your Gruggly bush with interest.

I planted it onto this granite 'slab ' or chip a month ago and it's settled well pushing growth . It's a weird thing but I'm quite fond of it . It's got a few fruit hanging off it but they are a it hard to see . Stands about 16cm

This has been my favourite tree of the competition. If "character" was the judging criterion, your Gruggly Bush would win hands down. Looks fantastic on the slab with Moss. Thanks so much for sharing this tree with us.

Looks great.
I would have given you better marks if you ironed your AB t-shirt

One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful
