Very inspiring !
Question : how long does it take to adhere to the dead wood?
Type of species and how well it's done obviously plays a part?
Just an indication plsm
Thanks.

It takes about 1-2 years to take on the shape of the stump if it has been well put on. It is also screwed to the stump and the tree will absorb the screws within a few years.

Hi Folks, i have been above my eyeballs with work and i dont think i have been busier in my life. The updates for this comp woke me up in the middle of the night last night with "crap i forgot to update". Logging on tonight to take care of it. Sorry i have not contributed of late but pressing personal issues have kept me busy. O.K, i stainless screwed the trunks to the host stump and did some tidying up and rewiring of the branches and foliage and it is starting to now look like a worthwhile project. I hope the foliage comes together by the due date. The trunk has shaped beautifully and only needed a few screws to keep it close.

Hi Bodhi
Mate Im considering taking on a project like this myself. What is the best time of year to do so.I have the Juni and I have a great piece of material for the base, given it needs carving to remove old bark and shape saw cuts.
I plan to start my own thread at the appropriate time.
Cheers

Spring is the BEST time for a project such as this Late September would be ideal. I did this in July to get the process happening so the window is large. Follow my process and it should be fine. I will help in any way possible.

The tree is healing well and a couple of the fixing screws are nearly covered, much to my surprise. The project is filling out nicely but i reckon it is five or so years off yet.

WOW, talk about pressure to get things done Just arrived home and realise i need to update the comp. Well then, all done today, the tree is in a nice new home. It is a lovely Japanese stamped pot which makes the tree more impressive at its, just, under 250mm. The wire needs to stay on a mite longer as the branching has not set just yet. It will probably take another 4-5 years of foliage refinement for it to become stunning. On this one i will pat myself on the back, with humility of course, as i did not think i would achieve even this in this amount of time.

Thanks Ken, it is a shame that i could not refine the foliage in time but i guess it is all about patience..isnt it Pretty sure you are on a winner with yours as that has changed dramatically.kcpoole wrote:What a lovely tree and pot combo Bodhi
