Hey mate,
Is that really the same tree as in the link there? if so it has fattened up substantially!! :tu: What are you feeding it?

My only thoughts on your styling is that there appears to be a bar branch, which over time will cause that area of the trunk to swell and look ugly. but bar branches also make trees look dis-jointed and it interrupts the flow of the viewers eye( :imo: ). Maybe talk to some more experienced members at your club and get some better advice. I'm only new to bonsai, but I have read a heap on the subject :reading: , and I know bar branches are frowned upon. Otherwise, keep up the enthusiasm, you can't learn if you don't try

hey mate, yeah that is the same tree and i dont feed it, just abit of seasol every now and then, just transfered it to a 200mm pot and yeah virtually a year later that growth was all natural. :)
Im pretty sure they are bar branches and i had advice on taking the bottom left hand branch off in pic 1 which i was told should help with the problems that bar branches create, but for the time being and untill i take it to the next meeting it can stay as is. So i have taken that into account, i really just wanted something to style haha.

Cheers Pat

P>S thanks for all the feed back you give me :) :tu2:

I plan to widen the apex and bring the branches down, and hopefully,
depending on the tree it will be ready for a pot :)
