Saturday - Cats win flag (nothing to do with bonsai)

Monday - Bonsai Northwest has a big night with Bill Valavanis giving a critique of members trees.

Tuesday - Bill Valavanis workshops.

Friday - Set up day for the BSV Show

Saturday and Sunday Oct 8th & 9th - Showtime.

I am glad daylight saving is here, lots of preparation needed for each of these events. Lots of spectacular trees to be seen. Lots of photos to be taken (new camera batteries) A great week to learn more about bonsai.

If you are in Melbourne make the effort and get along. I have told my wife that I will be home next Sunday Night (with some sleeps in between)

You are certainly in for a treat with Bill we have just had a fabulous weekend with him. Today in a workshop he reduced a tree from,
1195cm to 68.5 cm. Then took some other workshop trees, while some more prep work was done to be able to wrap the trunk and roots up.

Then in the afternoon created with helpers two group plantings one Deciduos and one Juniper. On Saturday we created 12 landscapes using many different species of tree and rocks.

He is leaving on a 5am flight from Perth so he is a very busy and fun guy. Enjoy, we did and those that did not come to the free shows and workshops you missed out we did not.

Is that right??? 1195cm to 68.5cm? or is that a typo?

What time is the demo at Northwest please??

1195cm would make it over 10m tall , i think he means 119.5cm or 1195mm

Done it again got my mm and m's mixed up with my cm and m's ,but I still got the inches right.

Several Peole have sent me questions

Tonights meeting is a critique organised by Bonsai Northwest
Although it is a club meeting, clubs are always looking for new members. If you come along tonight and say hello, I am certain you will be made very welcome. (with no expectations)
If you enjoy the evening perhaps you would consider becoming a member in the future.

Tuesday is a workshop where there is a small fee for observers (not sure about non-members)
perhaps David can elaborate

Venue is
Clifton Park Bowling Club
Batman Street
Essendon
Arrive after 7.30pm for an 8.00pm start.

The weekend is organised by Bonsai Society of Victoria, and is held at the Box Hill Town Hall, Whitehorse Road Box Hill. (entry $5)
Sat Oct 8th 9.00am -5.00pm
Sun Oct 9th 9.00am - 4.00pm
(BSV monthly meetings are in Kew)
