I have a chinese elm group, that is in a large trough, and this year I wanted to put it into a proper dish, however, due to circumstances, not a lot got done. today I feel good, and wondered if it was too late now to repot this group (it might need some breaking up) and will need major root pruneing. it has it's first flush of leaves out, but not yet hardened off. I'm going to sit down and do some wiring on it, but wondered if I could still repot? suggestions? we have been having warmer weather here

Yes of course you can, its just not ideal at this time.
I would give a trim of the roots but not root work as we normally do.

Paddles you could always wait till the leaves harden off then do what you want to this group.

I am still doing root work and repotting my trees with no problems. Yesterday i cut a large chinese elm hard and have done so in the past.
