This is a shimpaku we picked up last year cheap off a mate.this is its 1st styling, Its about 500mm tall and 450 wide. I will add a shari from R to L up the face of the trunk later. We think it is going to be a nice tree.

the 1st pic is as I started to clean it up. Blacked out the back ground because it was me , and I'm a ugly b@%$#@^d.

2nd pic is the front, back, left and right.

In the 2nd pic, I actually prefer the 'back' profile as a possible new 'front'... my personal :2c: worth anyway.

Nice first styling indeed Chris.

If I may? I would suggest shortening the first 2 branches on the left a little to improve the direction and avoid symmetry, and would not do the shari on such a thin trunk as it will want to heal over quickly and may just turn into a scar. Keep some of those extra branches around 2/3 high to grow freely as sacrificial branches, to improve the trunk thickness, while maintaining the design of the tree. When the trunk gets thicker you could do the shari then.

Nice nebari developing there to. Will only get better.

Nice, try slowly pruning the tops so the bottom right branch gets fuller with energy directed to it.
