Picked this up the other day from bunnings, one of their "bonsai starters" that hasnt been ruined with poor work just yet. I'm no expert but i cant see anything overly wrong with this tree. I'm planning to just leave it for a year or 2 just to let it pick up vigor and get a bit of size on it. I'm thinking on a semi cascade with the large branch at the top to be used as deadwood. Not sure if i should chop and debark that now or let it thivken up aswell a bit. Any suggestions?

G'day Hornet

Good call to pot up and develop. I would let the branch you want to jin thicken with the rest of it as it will thicken the trunk quiker. You can always make a jin smaller.

Growing this on will give you a lot more options for styling it in the future. Most trees that I see at Bunnings are in need of a good feed and TLC so that has to be the priority ATM.
