Does anyone know where I can get zeolite in melbourne ?

What is the cost on average?

I've recently noticed that supermarkets and hardware strores are stocking zeolite as fat absorbant for BBQ drip trays. There are more than one brand that are labelled as zeolite but I can't recall the names. Not sure about the price either - from memory, about $5-$6 for 2L.

I purchased a 25kg bag at Bulleen Art & Garden, 6 Manningham Road West, Bulleen, a few weeks ago.
I think it was around $20.

I too am looking for Zeolite & Diatomite in Melbourne... I was at Bulleen Art & Garden on the weekend with diatomite in mind but not zeolite... DAMN!

I picked up a bag of zeolite from Bulleen A&G a while back, but the particles seem very fine...all < 2mm.

Is this what most people are using or is there a coarser grade I can get from somewhere that will be a better companion to the 2-7mm Diatomite I'm mixing with?

zeolite is also used for water filtration (including pools) i have purchased it previously from clark rubber which was cheaper than getting it from aquariums.

Less than 2mm will be too small

I use a grade that is (I think) 2 - 5mm from Ray N in Sydney

Hi All

Just be mindful that not allZeolites are the same. If you are wanting a light weight Zeolite similar to Diatomite you are best to use NZ Zeolit not an Australian Zeolite. The Australian Zeolites are very dense in structure and not very porous typically 1ltr = 1.25kg, NZ Zeolite is has a very low bulk density of around 0.64 (1ltr = 0.64kg).
You can by NZ Zeolite from Big W under the cat litter range branded Vitapet Purrfit clay plus, 15ltr or 7ltr

Are you using this zeolite in your mix?

Just trawling through looking for diatomite and found Zeolite instead ... https://www.rsea.com.au/products/22006 don't know the grade or quality, but says NZ Zeolite on the pack photo ... at least these guys are open Sat, unlike a lot of Hort suppliers.
