Trident maple layers

These were set about 8-9 weeks ago on a couple of ground growing trainers .I didn't expect them to sprout roots this season as they were set mighty late for layering .Just for the hell of it i did them anyway rather than severe the tops off and waste so much growth .These are 3m high and 40-50mm twin trunk layers.I now plan to set multi layers on these and severe them in the middle of next years growing season .Looking forward to removing the original trunks from the ground over the next week or two .Cheers Alpineart
