Narita? As in where the airport is?
If you head by train into Tokyo/Ueno and jump on the Shinkansen to Omiya station, you then change trains there to the JR Tobu line and travel to Omiya-koen station you will be at the Bonsai Village.
Narita to Tokyo should be 45min-1hr, then 25min to Omiya and 5mins to omiya-koen
Feel free to PM me for details

Japanese bonsai pro's are very secretive about it, but the major satsuki trunk thickening area is near Narita. I've trawled around google earth trying to sight it to no avail. Alas

There is a very old temple complex not far from the narita airport. I visited it on an overnight stay enroute to the USA once, got a taxi from the hotel @ 8.00 am to the temple and was at the airport again by midday. There was an area there with bonsai, but that was about 5 years ago, don't know if it will still be there now. The temple complex was worth the short visit that i managed to fit in, and I would do it again. Maybe there is some info on the internet about it. Have a great trip, miyagiman.
