Japanese Maple -Acer Palmatum forest

These have been in training for 2 seasons

collected from the garden as self sown seedlings they were potted into this training tray .Its basically a 500mm saucer which had 16mm holes drill in the base for drainage .Clip and grow method was used to fashion the future forests .They were trimmed back 3 months ago and allowed to recover

Last week i slip potted them into their new trays, 1 training group becomes 2 future forests

These will get a winter work over and be defoliated several times next season to improved the ramification .Cheers Alpineart

Nice forests Alpine
I like the bottom one the most seems more movement in the trees :cool:
must get myself a maple forest :whistle: i have a couple of plum forests but no maple the plum forests are for my daughter to do with what she likes ,she enjoys it
very much and so do i as it is one of the few things that is just a me and her thing :tu:

Hi Rawhide , originally i planed to slip all of the tree's into the larger tray but it was too busy for my liking . They both have individual character and can only improve over time .I would like o see your plum forests ,Cheers Alpine
