Preview of a styling of a Juniper squamata prostrata

Here is a before and after of a Juniper. I am just about to do the next stage of work and thought you might be interested. Full article and pics to come soon.

Did you split the trunk to bend it that far Grant? Looking forward to reading your article and seeing the progressional shots rant, thank you.

Hi Peter,
I didn't have to split or hollow the trunk on this one.
I wrapped the trunk very securely with Raffia and then applied 8mm wire and it bent the full 90 degrees in one go with my (non patented) trunk bender which is basically a lump of metal. Splitting and hollowing should be the last resort, not the first, as it leaves scars etc.

Thanks Grant, thats a good bend to do in one go! Can you share a picture of your Trunk bender if you dont have ideas of patenting it that is .

Hi Peter,

Yes I will put a photo up of the bender(I'm going on a bender!). It was made by a Blacksmith to my order and should be able to be easily copied and made. It just gives you more leverage.
