I bought my first 2 potential bonsai on the weekend, a Buxus and a Calistemon(which i'll put up in the native section later).
It's a Buxus Microphylla var. Koreana.
I've trimmed the foliage from around the trunk area to see what you guys think.
I was thinking of taking the small branch on the left off and then wiring to sweep to the right a bit more once the trunk has thickened a bit more.

I'd probably take off the middle one of the three branches as it is pretty much in a straight line with the section below it (by this photo) and keeping it will not create any movement at all

It is pretty much directly in line with the trunk. After removing the middle branch would you still make the left branchsweep to the right or would you keep them completely seperate?

Uummmm its up to you. I guess if it was going to be a first branch I would bring it down a bit and if it was going to be a second trunk then i would take it to the right to roughly follow the main trunk

Looks better already. Not sure if i'll make the left trunk sweep to the right now. Looks pretty good seperated.

Just finished wiring and replanting the buxus in a grow pot. It turned out a hell of alot better than expected, especially for a first attempt. It was really root bound and there wasn't a great deal of soil in the original pot so hopefuly i get some good growth out of it. I'll post some pics on the weekend, off to work now.
