hi everyone ive recently bought some cork oak seeds of the internet and im wondering if anyone has had success growing them from seed as im looking for infomation on when to plant and and what your success rates are. im also interested is seeing any pics of your own that you have. thanks in advance

You need to get them into a pot as soon as possible as their germination rate drops off rapidly if they are allowed to dry out. They won't germinate for months so don't be impatient. In the spring when they start you should get a high germination rate if they are fresh.
All evergreen oaks germinate slower then deciduous oaks so don't worry if they are not moving when the others are shooting.

They are rapid growers in the first couple of years so get them into individual pots soon after they shoot - they are tough enough to take some rough handling when repotting.

Sorry, I don't have any pics - all my oaks go as seedlings and I don't have any older ones to show.

Also trim the roots in the first year to get a good root system.

I've started to get a couple of these Oak going. I have root pruned 1 heavily about 1 month ago and this is the other 1 which i will work on in early spring.They are very hardy trees.

I just love the corkbark on these trees, Some info for you below

I'm led to believe that this tree is around 11 years old, i can not be sure of that tho . I would say it's a little older but who knows
