I hope the competition organizers do not object but I feel we should have another category.

For natives which (for some reason) are not eligible for prizes.

Last years winners........how do these trees look now?

Trees which are not owned by the person who shows the pictures?

I spent a couple of hours today photographing some natives which do not belong to me, the artist is a member of this forum and has given me permission to post pictures of some trees.

I hope you like them as much as I do.

Trees that were entered last year, and did not win any prizes are eligible to enter this year.

As long as you own the tree so when the photograph is taken it is your tree. You do not have to be the photographer.

Judging of the photography is not being done, but obviously the better the presentation, the better chance you have.

Just thought to clarify that point.

First and last are very nice, great stuff. Pity the owner would not enter them
Saw a great paper bark yesterday but forgot to take a pic. The branch structure of the last tree reminds me of it well. Although it was not as full as this lush beauty

I have seen this tree many times and do not belive it has ever looked better, I am almost certain it will be in Bendigo for the weekend.

Wow, great trees!! Can I ask what type of melaleuca that is in the group planting as well as the type of Leptospermum shown?

The melaleauca bractaeata is fantastic what a beautiful representation of this species.
The leptospermum is laevigatum or coast tea tree, they should be a principal Australian bonsai subject

They are not my trees and species identification is not my strong point. I am particularly fond of the melaleauca bractaeata I have seen its development over the last few years, it has been worked hard and responded beautifully. I believe it is quite old and collected many years ago by its first owner (Geoff). I am not certain if it is a group or clump and I suspect you have seen it lots of times over the years, if so did you recognise it?

Hi Gerard, I have not seen the clump since it changed hands. The new owner sure has got it looking good. Its my pic of the trees you posted, while I appreciate the styphelioides it would be good to see the foliage clouds broken up into more than 3 mounds.
