Yes, you can dig them now. I like to put them in sand and keep them wet till they show new buds.

i have found that now is the best time to collect, though it is starting to get a little bit too cool, you should be fine. Just protect from drying winds and hot sun if it comes back out.

Today i collected 2 pines from near where i work. I have them at home roots, or what is left of them wrapped in wet newspaper and wrapped in a tea towel. I am wondering now, when i pot them up tomorrow, should i get rid of some of the branches on them to compensate for the root loss these trees have suffered? Any help, advice would be appreciated

Hey Matt
I woud remove as little as possible fromt he top of the tree when collecting.
Quite often you wil have to do a trunk chop to get them in the car, but I will leave as much as you can to push new roots
