some pics of my grow beds started last july. some things were planted from seed, the majority came from 6 inch pots except the bankias (tube stock) and collected things like cherry, pear, forensia, plums. Most things will get lifted and root work etc done this winter. im looking forward to seeing the plum groups i planted through large tiles to see what roots formed above they certainly have thickened. The pines and seju elms came from shibui.The crab apples came from Leigh and are now about 6 feet high and 1-1.5 inches thick. i plan to let them thicken alot than cut back to a bare trunk etc. same as the tridents.

lookin' good Matt, I thought you would have had a couple acres planted out by now.

What fert/watering system have you got in place?

Did you plow/rotary hoe the growing area before planting, native soil + organic matter?

that's intense! Something to aspire to when I have more land

never do that to a fellow bonsai nut i tried but done back in so cant dig nomore which means all
my tree's have to be brought and not grown by me

THe soil is a dark rich organic based, Most of the land here has a foot or 2 of top soil from been a river many many moons ago. I dug the beds by hand with a maddock, raised them abit and mixed in cow manure and dynamic lifter a month before i planted out. The watering system is just 2 large riticalating sprays on poles. i have just fert again for the second time. this will be it untill next spring
