Hi all,
For those who are interested I have been in contact with the maidenwell mine and they are happy to sell diatomite direct from the mine

, works out a 40L bag for $11, am awaiting a contact number and name for the mine and will post it here if the contact agrees.
Not sure on the weight of a 40L bag of the stuff but it may be worth some of you guys getting it freighted to you
cheers
Mick

Great Stuff Mick. Last time I tried that they wanted me to organise the courier company and courier companies don't like dealing with the public unless you want to pay massive price

It used to be $8 a bag but still a great price at $11 might have to get some in for spring.

Hey Mick if you do let me know
Bretts post here the shipping cost when you work it out. Might be worth a pool buy again, althought I do not really need any as once you have a heap of trees in it you do not need much more as i reuse most of it

Diatomite is a Soil Component some of us use
it is a fired diatomacious clay and is light as buggery, and hold heaps of water and nutrients.
more info here
https://www.mtsylviadiatomite.com.au/diatomite-products/
I use it Mixed with Zeolite 2/3 - 1/3 and no organic matter at all.
Some use it 100% and other use it as an additive to their normal Bonsai Soil.
Whatever you like and what works for you really

Hi Scott,
CBS is probably organising a purchase of Diatomite this year.
Kym J from Nepean may be interested in getting some for Sydney.

I heard a rumour that the Maidenwell mine was flooded and supplies will be hard to get for a while.
