Hi guys,
I'm trying to find seeds for Cedrus Brevifolia (previously Cedrus libani var. brevifolia). I'v contacted two major seed companies, and neither carry this particular species. It apparently makes fantastic bonsai because of the small needles. Can anyone suggest where else I should try looking -Google is not its usual helpful self on this one. Sources do not need to be in Australia, since there are no qualms with importing Cedrus seeds into Australia. Any suggestions would be great.

Daniel

Hi Daniel, Cedrus is from the Pine family Pinaceae and I believe seed imports are banned.

Cheers,
Mojo

Hi Mojo,

That was among my concerns, but I've checked ICON (import conditions database - Government run, so theoretically reliably, NB - theoretically), and according to it, seeds from any species in the Genus Cedrus can be imported, but thank you for alerting me to this, I do intend on double checking with AQIS before placing any orders, but as yet, I haven't been able to find a source.

Cheers, Daniel
