Soil mix for herbs

After seeing a beautiful rosemary at a bonsai show i have since purchsed a nice rosemary plant and i have been growing it in a pot of herb soil for 6 mounts now and i have got it to a state where i want to start working on makeing it more into a bonsai.
The question is do I change to a free draining bonsai soil, or do i stick with useing the herb growing mix, which seems to be a denser, wetter mix.
It is growing fine in the pot with herb mix, but i dont know if the same soil works in a shallower bonsai pot.

change to the bonsai mix, you will find the rosemary will grow better over time in the bonsai mix that it will in a soil mix from a normal nursery. I use (and i know other people do as well) my old bonsai soil, from when i repot, in my normal pot plants and potted herb garden,

I finally got around to doing some pics of my rosemary
This is a couple of months after my first styling of the tree

I am going to have another go, root prune and repot it into bonsai mix in a training put in Aug i think
If it survives ill be very happy.
I am feeling confident, it’s a very healthy tree.
