The place at Garden World (Springvale Road) that sell water features etc. Just north of Collectors Corner.
I have two little ones obsessive about water, needless to say they love that shop.

Thanks for the links... the ones from the US looks great but the shipping is more expensive than the product itself!!!!

Hi MakRo,
let me know how you go finding a deer scarer, have always wanted one in my bonsai garden, but the only ones I've found are very cheap looking but with an expensive price, have often thought of buying the bamboo (available at springvale gardne world) and trying to make my own.
cheers Nora

I have made several in the past. I'd be happy to help you make one. Easy as and fun too!
I've made a few big/tall one's also with several tilters.
All supplies can be found at Bunnings.

Here's a dog fountain I made, because my she won't drink still water. It represents the mechanism to re-cycle the water, via a small 12v pump, through a bottom reservoir.
http://www.instructables.com/id/Reticul ... -Dog-bowl/
We could use 3mm pipe instead, of the 12mm for the bowl.
The rest of it is simple, a 1.8m piece of bamboo sold at bunnings, cut into appropriate lengths for uprights/spout, tipper/uprights.
I'll try and draw how to cut the bamboo. I use traditional methods only, with bamboo fixings for the tilters pin etc. It may be easier to use standard hardware such as screws and hide them after.

Here is the finished product.
Thanks Gerard and everyone in this thread for the tips and tricks...
As you can see I moved away from the deer scarer idea, I have used a solar powered water pump from jaycar, which isnt too bad!

I like the pot, and i think you have the same variety of bamboo as i have in the background there. May I ask what the variety is and how tall it has become?

The bamboo variety is Alphonse Karr and it's in a large planter box. It has grown to a height of about 2 meters
