Having just had a little break after doing all the late winter potting now the trees are starting to come into leaf and the pinching starts. I think bonsai give a new meaning to the term "high maintenance"

I hear you. I love spring though!

Spent a full day on Sunday and loved every minute of it.

Nice trees there Nitram, the crab apple is really good, also all of them are very well potted I love the tree pot combination of your seiju. Looks like you are about 3 weeks ahead of me, my elms are just showing green. Yes spring is fantastic for both bonsai and garden especially after such a wet winter the plants are looking very pleased.

Thanks Craig. I nearly lost the crab apple last summer as it was overdue for a repotting but it's come back full strength now.

The seiju is a great tree too. This year it's taken on a pleasing form and I agree the pot does suit it.

Enjoy the quiet before the elms start up for the growing season!

some very nice trees in here guys! will be good to see them in full leaf and shape! :D i reckon pinching growth and doing all that growing season stuff is the great bit about bonsai! keeps the mind busy and also I find pinching, pruning, refinement can be quite relaxing, time always flys when I do these sorts of jobs!

nice :D

love maple groups and forests--in the first picture the trunks look a little too parallel-perhaps the two right hand trees could fan out a \itt/e---or not
