The Bonsai Society of Victoria will hold its annual show soon. The members of one of the oldest and largest clubs in Australia will show off their pride and joy!
To whet peoples appetites I have taken a few pics. (which I will add gradually)
Please feel free to add more pics to these.
Come and see them in the bark, you will not be disappointed.

This one was not shown last year, and like most, the picture does not do it justice.
More than 30 cm trunk it is a very large and impressive tree.

Hi Walko,
I have seen this tree at several shows, Northwest, Bendigo and maybe Glen Waverley as well as BSV. I am always in awe of the tree but where and when I am not sure anymore.

Thanks Jow,
I am still learning with my new camera, I had some fun taking these shots but feel there is lots of room for improvement.

Hi Gerard
What a great looking tree and I think the photograph gives me enough of an idea of what it might look like (and inspiration for my own trees) but, as you say, I would need to "see it in the bark" to get the real true feeling of the tree.

As I am in WA I cannot get to the show, which I am sure will be a fantastic event. Do you think it might be possible for you or someone else from your Society to take photos at the Show and maybe make a powerpoint presentation for all of us that can't attend to watch.

I am not sure how much space such a presentation might require but even if you give us a link (perhaps best if it was a protected site to stop those buggers we were all talking about in the threat on "Copyright") we could all enjoy seeing the display.

Well done on your magnificent tree and all the best for a fantastic show.

Sadly I cannot take credit for this tree :( :( :( , but the photo is mine :P :P it is obviously quite old but I would only be guessing.

A quite different tree
016.jpg
This one is roughly a 30cm tall and can be easily held in one hand. I am 90% sure that this is a grafted species and the graft on this tree has become almost invisible. This species of scots pine has beautiful short needles and compact foliage which make it perfect for bonsai. I am not sure why we do not see them everywhere, as you can see the result achieved by this artist is sensational.

Sadly one of my favorite trees will not be there as it was recently abducted (we know who)

I saw this tree for the first time at the BSV show about 5 years ago, I raced over to the sales table looking for hawthorns

Yes, the persons responsible for the abduction have the initials....
....LEIGH TAAFE and GRANT BOWIE
This beautiful tree should be just coming into bud and can be viewed at the National Collection in Canberra. Well worth visiting this weekend.
For one trip to Canberra you get,
National Collection
Floriad
Canberra Bonsai Society Annual Show (Sept 25 & 26)

The above mentioned rogues are not completely bad, as they returned another of my favorites just in time for the BSV show

Thanks Jase,
It is my intention to post one or two pics every day in the lead up to our show in order to help advertise the dates. Clubs need the support and the trees offered for viewing are a absolute treat.

I am running low on photos, I will bring the camera to the meeting this Monday hoping to get a few more.
