There is a major weather warning for north east victoria particullay the likeyhood of flooding. The SES is saying it could be the most significant weather event in 15 years with 100mm likely overnight early tomorrow and gusts at 75km regullay. hail etc .With all this rain i had last month (235mm) and large trees falling over regually hopefully this dosent happen. I think my creek is at capacity and more will breach its banks. Anyway the trees are tucked in for the night and unless a big tree falls on them should be fine. good luck

I was talking to my Brother last night he has a place up near Castlemaine. The dams up there which have been on 5% for the last 7 years are now at 60% this is such good news. This rain event while it may be a concern in the short term may just fill the dams to 100% full. We have been in drought for 10 yrs finally its broken.
Hope all is well for you Noah, is your property flood prone ? Hope you have the cattle safely tucked away to.

44.9 mm in the hours till 8 am (not quite 8 am as I post, but no more rain in the next ten minutes), yes I am pedantic about 1mm. Thats the highest rainfall in a day for the last six years.
Yesterday was memorable, not just the rain but two thunderstorms straight overhead, some so close I was running outside to see if anything was hit. Cockatoos and kangaroos rushing past the house in a mad panic, the cats of course found a place by the fire early. Trying to calm the girls while it sounds like the world is exploding.
It is settled now, but soooo much water in the dams and everywhere.
And I really thought they were joking on the weather forecast when they said up to 40mm in the hills, we are in the dry part!

Its been raining all night here but I suspect the main event is yet to hit us, I have all the trees sitting in the ground now as the wind is just starting coming from the north the mountain ash trees make a noise like the ocean in wind like this.
