+I had two pots given to me; this is the second pot, the other pot thread (Bougainvillea Root)
I think it is harder to find a bonsai to match a pot than a pot for a bonsai.

It's a very interesting pot and your tree choice isn't bad but what worries me is how you are going to repot it when the time comes as the opening looks quite complex to remove a tree whose roots have grown without unduly damaging the tree and the pot. Maybe it is one of the pots that when the time comes you simply bite the bullet and hit it with a hammer. But pots with strong incurved rims are hard enough at repotting time, I don't fancy this baby.

And when you wire the tree I think you would need some curves in the bonsai to mimic the curves in the pot.

I’m thinking of a wind swept style, the pot has an icy blue colour and was designed to look like sea and coral so I think a wind swept look would be in harmony with the pot.
I will let it get established in its new home first.

Not quite as good a match as the other but still looking fine I will see if I can put up a different idea
I think it will come back out when needed with some perseverance.

Any ideas are welcome.
The pots are 250mm they hold a lot of mix, which should last for a long time.
When the time comes to repot I will dig out as many roots as possible lay them on the outside of the pot and bury the pot then later cut below those roots just like a layer.

After the good critique I received I changed Junipers to get a better windswept look.

I removed padding (Gutter mesh) and reduced the foliage today.

I think that in curved pots are not the problem at re potting that people perceive.
When re potting you have to remove roots from all around the root ball do you not.

When you use a sharp sickle or knife you have removed the roots needed. Then just comb them out, clean up rough cuts and then re pot as normal. I have never found them to be a problem.
