I got some free seeds, Bower of Beauty Pandorea jasminoides a native woody flowering vine maybe 4 years ago with an ebay purchase.
I have had a few growing out over my bonsai bench and wonder if any one knows anything about them?
Thanks

They are as you say a woody vine, like most vines they are very slow to thicken, if you want girth put it in the ground and grow out for 20yrs to get maybe a 2" trunk. They take to being slaughtered so cutting it down to a stump & digging it out with minimal roots is no problem once you get the size you want.
I have one I collected that had been planted in the mid 80's
viewtopic.php?f=132&t=4019&hilit=+pandorea It was dug with a few inches of thick root and no fine feeders, it is still reluctant to grow like a vine instead putting out a few leaves and then trying to flower. Probably about due for a repot as there are roots coming out the bottom of the pot.
Use a free draining mix, water well and feed heavily with whatever comes to hand, I use DL. As said, they are one tough aussie.

Thanks Guys so it seems they should lend themselves to bonsai culture Ok at least.
This is the larger one of two I have growing under to over my bonsai bench. I think it has been there for about three years now and has about 30mm trunk. Will need some serious root work when it comes out of the ground. It is great to know it can take a good wopping
