At least you got someone to help out with your hobby. My wife wouldn't touch my trees

and my chooks, I wouldn't let them either

ok, messed with the settings.... a bit better, but the tree does look more interesting in reality....

Nice looking tree!
Those shadows are causing havoc on your lines. Try waiting till afternoon, with the sun behind you so no shadows are seen, perhaps bring it inside to shoot?
I can see it has some nice form though still, it shall make a good bonsai with care and detail.
I love dogs!
