hi guys,

recently i aquired some of the sensational mopani wood that chris sirre is supply and have done a few tanuki, this is one i will be keeping, it carves very well and lime sulphurs nicely, it gives a nice deadwood, live vein feel
this is how i originally done it, didnt think it sat well so after carving it i removed some excess.
this is it today i feel much better.

Very nice looking jamie. How did you attach the jup? did you carve trenches to fit them in?

the beauty of the mopani is it had natural channels to fit the thinner branches in that will eventually grow into it i did cheat a little bit and used some dobs of super glue every couple of CM to make sure it will hold for now

thanks mate i have some more that are literati like but will take a fair bit of time with carving and final placements, this one was about 5 hours of carving as i needed to use a rotary tool for all of it.

Natural channel huh? I really want one. Remember the shrimps? I repoted them and they are thriving now. I will need some nice wood for those long branches.

i got mine fro chris sirre on here, he done me a very good deal and a smooth easy transaction! will definately be going back to him

and yea this is one of the shimp we got earlier this year i have a couple in the ground aswell, and a couple in slightly bigger pots, i have managed to get mine to backbudd profusely by trimming half the foliage and feeding well

cheers KC, i agree that pot is to shallow, was just a last minute add in to the virt, it will either be a similar size pot it is in now, but unglazed not the glaze with pattern. possibly rectangle but more likely round with rivets, maybe
